Fortinet’s Training Institute offers a free, self-paced path to the Fortinet Certified Fundamentals (FCF) in Cybersecurity credential — an entry-level certificate covering today’s threat landscape and core security concepts.
Training and the associated online exams are free for anyone who creates a FortiCloud account. No prior cybersecurity experience is required.
To earn the certificate you complete:
- Introduction to the Threat Landscape, and
- either Getting Started in Cybersecurity or Technical Introduction to Cybersecurity

Eligibility
Open to anyone worldwide. Create a free FortiCloud (Email user) account, then enroll in the Fortinet Training Institute courses. No work experience or paid exam voucher is required for this fundamentals path.
How to apply
- Create a FortiCloud account (choose the Email user option) if you don’t already have one.
- Sign in to the Fortinet Training Institute.
- Enroll in Introduction to the Threat Landscape.
- Complete either Getting Started in Cybersecurity or Technical Introduction to Cybersecurity.
- Pass the online end-of-course exams to earn Fortinet Certified Fundamentals in Cybersecurity.
Courses are self-paced. Keep your login details safe — certificates are tied to your FortiCloud account.
